Anyone up for a cross-blog movie watching & review? Hopefully we can watch something a *little* better than the TortureTainment (TM) period. I am more than willing to mix up my Netflix queue, it's pretty random to begin with!

Happy Tidings

Many thanks to those who sent kind messages on my birthday. I appreciate the messages, and I'm sorry I haven't been in touch much lately. Happy times are here, yes? :) I promise to entertain you with fun-loving content. Such as this.

Bug'd.

Reading always helps put me relax at night, sometimes to the detriment of R's quality of sleep. For a few years I've been using my swell headlamp to light my efforts. Several nights ago SOMETHING decided to land on my face while I was reading. I'm not super bug phobic, but paired with the darkness and the late hour, I certainly screeched and swatted. I thought this was pretty traumatizing, but after reading about Annie's visitor, I have no complaints. Thank you small Eugeneian bugs.

Possible side effects include: Jaw bone necrosis. Esphogeal ulceration and rupture. Is it any wonder I can't concentrate on school?

I hear what you're saying, g.

The bottom line is, we're going to have to drill down to the granular level if we're ever going to achieve these goals.

I wish I were this crazy...

I dislike pain too much, I fear.

Needy

Please indulge my neediness for a moment. R just called to tell me that he is going to miss being here for my birthday, as his work needs him to be in Seattle. I have two finals that day, so I can't accompany him to Seattle...I'll just be sitting here all by my lonesome.

It's a really busy time for just about everyone, so I haven't tried to plan a party or anything. I would really like to do something, though.

I think dinner might be nice. Who wants to come over and cook me dinner? We can finish off all the party beer in the fridge, and there's some sparkly stuff floating around as well. As it gets closer to 6/11, though, I'd be more than happy to just have a bubble tea date or a nice text message. Heck, even a $1.50 movie would be nice!

Reading

I love it when books make me laugh out loud. It's rare, I've even gotten to the point where I don't laugh out loud at television. The other night I woke R up with my laughter at a paragraph by Michael Chabon, who was describing a character's night spent in the same bed as small children. I think it was this sentence in particular that got me:

"Around dawn, something very bad happens in the baby's diaper."

This is kind of reading like a "you had to be there" moment, but I think readers who are parents will understand. Word.
