Well, we're all moved in. Unpacking will continue to take some time, as R can't hang up all the shelves I need in one weekend (he's only here 4 days each week). Tony was super-awesome and helped with the heavy lifting, and has won our undying affection. It's really nice to be living away from campus, I really feel like my day at school ends when I can actually get away from there! Can't wait to have a party.
I've been trying to find the box I packed my library books in, as I have a few I want to get started on. I am thankful to a certain blogger for mentioning _Soul Barnacles_, because I had neglected to add that to my list. Below I mentioned reading _How It Used To Be_ by M. Burke Carver...I wish that I was taking a seminar course where we got to discuss great writers, their lives, and possible impact upon their writing (something along those lines). I was impressed with how neutral she could be at times, even when it was clear that Ray had behaved badly. He wanted her to tell it like it really was, and I think she did do that. _Soul Barnacles_ is by Tess Gallagher, who spoke at the UO just a few weeks ago, but I missed her. I think it's going to be extra interesting to read this so soon after HiUTB.
I'm tired. I think I've been off my game for about 7 months now, give or take. Medication mishaps. Thyroid. Pain. Osteoporosis. Yay for side effects!
All of this has caused me to allow my limitations to hold me back, in the past I think that I was fighting a better fight. I am trying not to give in, but I think I'm running out of sports metaphors.
What's new with you?
