Has the Heart Grown Fonder?
I can't believe how long I've been gone! Gentle Reader, it's been tough without you.
Mini existentialist angst continued, causing me to doubt my choice of future career, myself, and my ability to perform said career. Today I'm feeling a lot better about it all, but I may change my mind in a few weeks. I'm taking next term off to get healthy and strong again, and then I'll be back in the game and hopefully kicking some ass.
I spent most of the month of September in bed. Sadly, not doing naughty things, but recovering from quite a big surgery (I don't think I really realized how big it would be until it was over). I now have a Super Bladder that can withstand the forces of massive amounts of alcohol and caffeine, as well as leap tall buildings, and rescue small kittens in case of emergency. I can provide gory details to those who want them, but I don't want to freak anyone out. I certainly appreciate my abdominal muscles now more than I ever did before, they sure help when you want to do things like take a shower, put your shoes on, sit up...
I'll post again soon, with pictures, and more fun updates. How've you been?

These Modern Times
I covet the fancy phones I see lately. I don't really NEED a new phone, though, the one I have works fine. I'd love to be able to check email with my phone, or to get directions if I'm lost in Portland (again). I don't think I care about the music options, though. Should I? That seems to be the focus of many of these newfangled contraptions, but I have my reservations about my the device that acts as my "emergency line" being run down because I needed to listen to _Punkrocker_ one last time before class.
Inspiration
When existential angst is at foot, sometimes you just need someone or something to turn to, a touchstone, a source of wisdom. For me it's always been film adaptations of video games. Thanks to Mortal Kombat I am reminded to that I am in charge of my own destiny. Resident Evil taught me to be scared of skinless zombie dogs, and the Mario Bros. movie is just too amazing for a short mention.

Who Knows Japanese?
The grass is always greener. This is by far cooler than anything I've ever seen a US company put out.
Of course my time in design school is teaching me to be hyper critical of all products I use.
